Ah, Friday, day of casual wear, day of morning tea, day of justifiable slacking off, day before the weekend... How I love thee.
Yes, I'm sleep-deprived. How can you tell?
Slightly less strenuous training last night, but still much with the kicking and the stretching. I taught the new students for about half an hour as well, which gave me a chance to rest my left knee - looks like I've strained a tendon on Wednesday. Lots of nifty people to talk to, and more advertising of the social night we're having next Wednesday.
Personal inventory: raspy voice (teaching involved a lot of loud talking), random sore bits, and one very stiff and painful left knee. It hurts to bend it, so my guess is the kicks from the last two nights have over-strained the flexor tendon back there. It'll be fine, just needs to rest up for a couple of days (which is another reason to rejoice for the weekend!), and I left the bike at home today, mainly because pedalling involves a whole lot of bending and that's what hurts like a mo' fo'. I'll walk home from work (about five km), which will exercise it without adding strain. And I've got a date with the bubble bath tonight. *grins* I've missed out the last two nights.
I also called Melancamp once I'd gotten myself some food (two minute noodles again, but with added veggies to make them marginally more healthy). Yeah, bad, I know, but after two hours of training, I'm after instant gratification, not gourmet. It's times like that I miss having a housemate who I could ask to save me something. But yeah, talking with the Melly, which made me feel all kinds of good. Between talking to her and Raph on Wednesday, I'm back to my happy, normal, if somewhat tired, self.
Looks like the Maelstrom (or portions thereof) are gathering on Sunday, which is also good. We're picnicking in the Exhibition Gardens, which means no waiters looking at us funny in cafes after the fourth hour of sitting there. Catching up with Phil on Saturday - I found another pub that deals in Old Speckled Hen.
I'm planning a quiet one tonight - need some downtime to cook myself something decent for dinner, have that bath, and do some writing. I have too many stories backing up in the rear of my head, and it's getting annoying, because I don't like to have too many things on the go at once and so I won't start anything else until I finish the two I've got running (limping?).
*looks at the application sitting near her and sighs* I've already sent this one back twice and it's still wrong. Some people just don't understand basic instructions. If someone else was driving the car nominate them, not yourself.
Ah well, better get back to it. Have a good one, all, but especially [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], whose birthday it is imminently (meaning the time difference is confusing me again). *birthday smooches for Samy*
