Yep, Saturday morning (still, but only just), and I'm sitting here catching up on online stuff with the ABC on in the background. Some kind of music show, focussing on Aussie music, called Popsui. Interesting mix of stuff.
And they've just played Something for Kate's Monsters, and as always the clip makes me want to write just what the hell is going on. It's just that kind of clip.
Oh, and Mel! They played Frontier Psychiatrist! Possibly one of the weirdest clips I've seen in a while, but lots of fun.
Health status - getting better. I have a sneaking suspiscion it's the aircon at work that's making me sick; I always feel a lot better at home, then worse at work. Still coughing, but not as much - I actually slept through last night, just bizarre dreams to contend with. Apparently my love life is newsworthy. TV broadcast newsworthy - a guy from work and I got together and held a press conference about it, like those ones they hold for victims of crime and world-first medical procedures, you know?
Weird. My subconscious and I are going to have words. No way am I that self-absorbed. Then again, maybe I am.
On the topic of me... let me just say Amanda is a goddess. She's found three more jobs for me to apply for, one with the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions (kinda like the DA's office, only national) that is perfect. I don't have one of the criteria - dictaphone transcription training - but I emailed them and asked if it was still worth applying and they said as long as I show willingness to learn, it's all good. And willingness to learn is one of my strong points. Always happy to learn new things, provided it's done in a way that doesn't make me feel like a moron (ie, don't patronise me!). The other two are also pretty good, and they're all nicely spaced over the next couple of weeks, so I don't need to bust a gut doing the applications. Only the first one - it's due on Wednesday and I want Amanda to proof it for me, so I need to get it done this weekend so she has time. Still, I'm getting good at applications - it's the interview technique I need to work on now.
Relief also in the form of money - I've transferred half of my remaining savings into my bank account. Some will go towards living expenses until payday, but the rest will go into another savings scheme that operates like a basic account, only with decent interest. It's going to become my travel fund. I'm still going to look for some part-time work on weekends, tho', if only to try and make Dexcon. Of course, if I get this CDPP job, I won't need it, but it's not a sure thing and I like to cover my bases.
So, that's what's happening with me. How's it with you?
