Yes, I know, bad pixie logging on at work. But the only thing I have left is an application with 46 fines to be looked at, and I've got just over half an hour left and my brain's turned to mush. Not even the cuppa soup I had as a mid-afternoon snack has helped.

I think I'm up for a nice big pasta meal or something tonight - I've got a bad case of the munchies after a couple of days of two meals or cheese on toast.

I went to the market at lunchtime today and did my veggie shopping. So I have two panniers of food to get home, and then I'm going to go to the supermarket and get the rest of the stuff I need, like noodles and pasta and eggs and such. My fridge, as you can guess by this sudden shopping craze, is pretty much empty - a block of cheese, half a punnet of strawberries from the fizzy wine night with Yasmin, and a couple of apples since I keep forgetting to take them to work as snacks. *duhs*

Looks like the rain's stopped, for now. Which is good, because I got soaked this morning and I had to hang my cycling stuff in the women's toilets to dry out. I've been fielding jokes about my laundry all day. And riding in the rain is hard enough without having ten kilos of veggies weighing you down and making steering even more difficult. Besides, for some reason rain makes people drive worse - it's like they're worried about their cars melting or something and they speed up and make sudden turns and stops without warning. Um, hello? I'm the one getting wet, and you don't see me acting like it's toxic rain - if anything, I have to slow down, because the rain mixes with the oil dropped by cars and makes the roads majorly slippery and my brakes tend to be less effective when wet. Not saying they don't work at all, just I have to squeeze them a few times to dry them off first.

Still, I'm not begrudging the rain, just the way it makes people drive. We've had so little rain over the past six plus months - there was another bushfire near Kyneton yesterday, filling the city with smoke again - every little bit counts. Especially when they're talking about further water restrictions if the reservoirs drop any more. So yes, please Mr/Ms Mutant in Charge of Melbourne's Weather, more rain would be good. But not next weekend 'cause thats the Festival of Beers. ;)

Hmm, nearly time to go - I could probably tally up my processing report and put my soup mug in the dishwasher and that would take up the rest of the time. Later, peoples. :)
