Attack of the Killer Work Day
May. 26th, 2003 04:03 pmFor a job that has me bored out of my skull most days, I've been horribly busy today. Possibly because I needed to organise various things and didn't want to be busy, hence invoking Murphy, Patron Saint of Bastards.
Friday night was... well, I'm told I had a good time, or at least people are winking and nudging each other as they ask me how the party went. *sighs and rolls eyes* What little reputation I had is in tatters, and I might as well resign myself to being the office drunk. At least I didn't snog anyone, which is always an option when I'm drinking red wine.
Launceston is pretty much arranged, just need to pack. Can't wait until Thursday. :)
GASP also pretty much arranged, although with little help from me. Considering it's at my place, it's about time I actually said something about it.
And I was incredibly productive writing-wise on Sunday. I've discovered the secret to making me write - get me away from the internet and the tv, which means leaving my abode, and put me somewhere comfortable where there's beer. My local pub, which has re-opened at last. Chapter 6 of Death and the Art of Pyramind Selling is one or two scenes shy of being complete, and Chapter 7 is currently plotting itself. Lots of surprises, including for me - [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] mentioned how even though you still follow the overall plot, things can run away from you, and that's certainly what's happened with this one. 'S all good, tho', although the ick factor has been raised to worse than Suffer the Children. And I haven't even finished killing off various characters yet.
*contented sigh* Yes, it's good to be writing solidly again - I was wondering where it had gone. Of course, when I did finally get to bed last night, the story continued in my head - I just hope I remember where I got up to.
