deathpixie: (lovey lizards)
I like laundromats.

It occurred to me last night, as I spent a couple of hours washing and drying about three weeks' worth of clothes. Not the prices - it costs me roughly $12 every three weeks and that's not including detergent), or the carrying down of a baclpack of dirty clothes, but just the actual laundromat itself. I think it's a combination of association - every other time I've used one I've been travelling, and it makes me feel like a backpacker again - and the fact it gives me quiet time, time to think, to ponder, to read, and to write. And I tend to meet interesting people, but not the dribbling-insanely cackling-stealing your underwear-type of interesting, because my laundromat is in the heart of student and yuppie territory. I've met a Danish girl working her way around the place for a few years, a couple of Arts students, fellow cyclists... It's a social hub.

And yes, there was more Constantine written last night.

So that's where I was last night when you rang, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. Sorry to have missed you - and I forgot to check the phone (because nine times out of ten there's nothing on it anyway) until ten, so definitely no chance of calling back. And I'm off to Tassie tomorrow, so I'll have to call you on Tuesday, okay? Get well, mate.

Tonight is karate, with social night afterwards - cheap food and drinks at the Redback Hotel in Flemington Rd. And then I'm off to Launceston in the morning, so you won't hear from me for five days - I'll be back Monday evening. Hopefully I'll have a completed epic (and Death and the Art... is indeed an epic - it's going to be close to 20,000 words by the time I'm done) ready to post. As well as a nice, stress-free deathpixie after five days of hanging around with a couple of nifty people and hiking and pubbing and stuff. :) Hmm, must get film for my antique camera...

Man, next week's going to be heavy - I have a couple of meetings for work, my boss's farewell on the Friday (this is why GASP is starting 12pm Saturday, those involved - I can't get out of this), and then GASP on the long weekend. And an extended Mel visit until the next weekend...

When did I suddenly become a social butterfly?

I had to take someone off my Friends filters yesterday because she did the whole Buffy spoiler thing. I'm also considering suspending my membership of the Buffy Fanfiction Archive mailing list until after I've seen the end of season seven, because again with the spoilers. Spoilers in the bloody summary of all places. So now I know something I really, really wish I didn't.

Australia is about six episodes behind the US. We've just had the one about where the Slayer came from last night, so I'm guessing it's still a little while to go before we get to the finale. So please, for the love of everything, LJ cut your reviews/raves/rants/fanfic/etc?

I will note that most of my friends list are pretty cool that way - there's just the odd one. And I can't even tell the particular person I removed yesterday, because to comment would be to read the rest of the offending post, which I immediately stopped reading after the second line (the first line was saying she was talking about Buffy, immediately followed by what she wanted to talk about).

Grr, argh.
