Can I just say that I much prefer Dr Wall to the Other One? To be fair, it's hard to diagnose when the patient has PMT and so has pain everywhere in her abdomen, but Dr Wall has very kindly given me a diagnosis - irritation of the stomach lining, caused by either stress or a previous bug - and given me some tablets to stop my stomach producing acid (and thus give things a chance to heal up). Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I was apparently on the way to developing a stomach ulcer. Oh joy.
Since I have a fridge full of food that's not getting any younger, I'm making a big pot of ratatouille (eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, onion and garlic, with a bit of basil) which I'll freeze in single serving sizes for future use. I'd have some tonight, only I don't think I would be able to keep it down. I'm trying to decide between plain white rice again, or maybe some plain scrambled eggs. I'll let the stomach decide, I think.
Work was actually not bad. I slacked off quite a bit after sorting my lists out, with Steve giving me occasional bits of work when he decided I needed to do something. But it was great to get out of the flat and to talk to people, and to get some exercise. I stopped by karate on my way home from the doctor, to let them know I won't be there for another week, which was also good - human contact is a very comforting thing, especially when people are asking how you're doing. Tomorrow is court day, with a big police list - I hope I can manage okay. The doctor told me to have small snacks, rather than proper meals, so I'll be taking more fruit in tomorrow. Fruit is Of The Easily Digestible.
Someone tried to sell me cable tonight. Considering I'm still paying off the Credit Card of Doom, and going to Brisbane in another week, it's not something I can afford right now. Pity, it was a pretty good deal. Still, it's not like I need any more excuse to watch TV. ;)
