Five Little Things
--

The idea here is to list five little things about yourself that few people, if any, know, and that you -like- about yourself. (So no bitching about moles on your butt, no listing bad habits, and generally no angst, trauma or injuries. No cheating with things like "When I try to do such and such, it turns out really great, but I never try." either. )

1) My toes crack. Almost all the time. When I walk across bare floors in bare feet, it sounds like mini-castanets. It doesn't hurt, tho'.

2) Up until I was five years old, my eyes were green-blue. Now they're hazel - or khaki, as a Certain Canadian has put it.

3) I have a very good sense of what's going on around me, carefully honed by years of cycling in the city. Except if I'm concentrating on something else like reading. Then a bomb could go off and I wouldn't notice.

4) I can pick up the lyrics of most songs on the first listen, and be singing along to it by the second. Sometimes I hear the lyrics before the actual music sinks in. I also have a very good ear and can tell when someone's out of tune (including myself, which is why I generally sing only in the shower or quietly to myself).

5) I'm very strong, considering my size. By the time I got back to Australia, Leonard (the Backpack of Doom (TM) ) weighed 22kgs, and I was carrying him, plus another ten-fifteen kilos in hand luggage.

I spent two hours this morning going through the new letters with Monique, which means I have a task this afternoon, making the changes on the old letters using "Track Changes" so people can see what we've done. When I got back, I found people were in a dither over my whereabouts. Seems they were worried about me disappearing. Which is very nice, to have people notice my absence, except for the fact I'd told Peta and Allie as I was leaving where I was going. They just hadn't noticed. So, I'm noticeable in my absence, just not my presence. *grins*

Training went well last night - we were focusing on kata, which always makes me happy. I seriously need some remedial kata training. So much has changed or been forgotten during the Lost Wodonga Years. There was a social night afterwards at the Redback Hotel, which was also fun. It's good to get out and be social with different people sometimes - not that there's a problem with hanging out with the people I hang out with, it's just nice to have different perspectives and different conversations sometimes. And talk about the nasty violent things we can do to people. ;)

It's hard to concentrate today - I'm going to see the Whitlams with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] tonight. I can't wait. :)
