We have message bank signal!

It just occurred to me that I was perfectly capable to testing my own message service, by calling myself from work. Which I did - things seem to be working again. I guess I didn't think of it earlier because of the whole absurdity of calling your own phone. Then again, my phone isn't the most active in the world, and if you want to be sure, do it yourself.

I'm planning to get a few chores done today. Paying the electricity bill, buying some blank CDs (finally!) so I can clear off my computer and back up everything in prepartion for switching over to OSX (yes, I know, it's late, but I have an irrational fear of doing major things to my computer, what with being the techno-nong and all...). I also need to pay off the remainder on my credit card (curse you Amanda and Seraph for taking me to that dress shop!), get a hair cut sometime this week (I tried last night and the place was closed, dammit), and arrange for passport photos to be taken so I can renew my passport. Busy, busy, busy.

Of course, none of that actually includes doing, say, my job. Because once again I'm ahead, and even training my replacement didn't take that long...

I need to think of a question to ask you lot so I get lots of comments to entertain me at work.

What kind of work is my name associated with? What kind of assumptions do you make about a piece of writing, fiction or non, if you see my name on it?

Nota bene: This is emphatically NOT an attempt to fish for compliments. I'm not trying to get judgements on the quality of my work, but rather about its other characteristics.

For example, if you were given the name of an actor, that might make you think of a certain genre of film he or she is often in or a type of character.
