I should have known there was going to be upheaval from the ride in this morning - a lot of traffic doing sudden, silly things, requiring me to actually get my brain together and concentrate. It was an omen, I tell you.
First of all, this decision yesterday means that we here at PERIN have to pull out and hold any applications of any kind relating to fixed speed cameras. This means a workload which was already pretty light has now been effectively halved, although it requires a small amount of work to identify the affected cases. It also means we're probably going to be seeing some very strange and silly applications as motorists try and take advantage of the situation, and the call centre is probably in meltdown as we speak.
Then, along with our pay slips today was a letter from the Department regarding the pay rises our recent work bans allegedly achieved. Personally I get a rise of the princely sum of... wait for it... $23. A year. The union is going to go back to the table and have words with the Government. Me, I'm looking for a new job. Well, I was any way, but this is fucking ridiculous. An increase of $23 a year doesn't even show up in my weekly pay. I'm starting to think it might even be worth my while to sign up with an employment agency now, rather than waiting for after my leave in January.
Another part of me wonders what the bloody point is of even trying. I could get better pay working as a waitress, and at least my customers wouldn't physically threaten me. Unless I was working in a McDonalds, that is.

Thank goodness I posted that meme yesterday - reading people's answers has certainly improved one hell of a stinkingly bad mood.
