deathpixie: (vegemite toast)
Repeating this, in the interests of increasing my chances of a response.

I need a beta reader for the latest Collective Mutants story. It would mainly be for typos, odd bits that don't work, and letting me know if I've tilted the mush meter - I'm writing a wedding and I suck at doing poignant moments without descending into pap.

A quick run-through for non-Australian comprehension would also be cool - I've used a bit of slang again, although not as much as some of the the other stories. I'd also want it back before the end of the month - I'm determined to post something other than Constantine this year.

So, if you're up for it, let me know. :) I'll send it to you once my work account lets me have external email

Edit: Lotus Notes finally coughed up the email I sent myself this morning. So, I now have a final copy on me, to be sent to whoever offers.

Extremely weird technical issues kind of day. VIMS has crashed several times, the Internet was down for most of the morning, and I'm still not sure if I'm getting access to external email or whether no-one loves me. It's made getting work done tricky, but at least there isn't much to be done.

And I'd be really happy if we were allowed to answer the phones again - these bans are getting annoying, since we just leave the phones to ring out...
deathpixie: (young ones)
This is always the hardest part of the day for me. Especially if it's been a quiet one, like it has today. I'm at the stage where there is really nothing I can do, I've read LJ frontwards and backwards, my email has petered out and there are fifteen super-stretchy Plasticman-type minutes left before I can leave.

*sighs*

And there's no point me writing anything, because no sooner would I start getting into things, I'd have to either leave and break my momentum, or stay and look really obsessive, especially when everyone else is going home and they know there's no work to be done.

Still, I got my x_project application done, and hopefully they'll like the wonderfully twisted things I've done to Amanda Sefton and let me play. Which would definitely give me something to do when the work dries up.

Well, that managed to use up five minutes. *drums fingers on desk* Now what? Oh! I can take my mug into the kitchen and put it in the dishwasher, whoo! Be still my heart!
