This won't make any sense to anyone who doesn't know about the whole X-Project thing (yes, the RPG that ate my life), but I am eagerly awaiting Mental Health Month. It's basically a month or so of less traumatic plots, usually encouraging us to resolve at least one outstanding issue for our characters.

But, I hear you say, you don't have to put your characters into angsty plots. You can just let them sit this one out!

Unfortunately, with one of my characters, no I can't. See, I recently picked up Madelyn Bartlet as an alternative. She's a doctor, and since most of the angsty plots we have going on end up with someone in medlab or at least needing an exam, or a reaction from the medical team, Maddie tends to end up being involved. And since there's been a crisis every second day lately, Maddie is horribly overworked and rapidly going around the bend. And she's my sane character.

I could still refuse to sign up for stuff and not react, but in all realism, I can't. Maddie is the responsible type and she wouldn't just let someone else do it. Especially when we're one doctor down until we know what's going on with Hank's player. It also makes it hard for me to plan anything not-angsty for her - I wanted to give her the night off, have her have a birthday dinner on the 11th, but as I've been reminded, that's when another character is having an Incident and she needs to be on call.

A break will be nice. Roll on MHM.
