Well, what do you know, I did end up at karate after all.

And you know what? I feel a heap better. Tired, a bit bruised, and I'm lucky I still have my head on after Alex decided to demonstrate a bunch of headlock moves using me as the dummy, but emotionally a lot better. Perhaps because I got to talk to people who weren't from work, and who were glad to see me. Perhaps because Alex let me use him as a punching bag, and I took a lot of frustration out on his arm (which, since he has no nerve endings any more after 15 years of training, is none the worse for it). Perhaps because I didn't coddle myself and wuss out again and actually achieved something beyond sitting around feeling sorry for myself.

Whatever it was, I do feel much better for it.

Bugger of a head wind, the cyclist's nemesis, on the way home. The same wind that reduced my ride to work this morning by two and a half minutes and several traffic lights decided to make life difficult. But whilst it took me longer to get home, my calmer mood was still intact.

And what should I find on TV as I'm making dinner but a special on Bruce Lee's last (unfinished) film. Including previously-lost footage.

Whoa. That's all I can say.

The man was an absolute genius. And his philosophies on life and martial arts reminded me of my favourite teacher, Meng. A huge loss to the world.

My shoulders are still sore, tho'. *pulls a face*
