deathpixie: (grease in the wheels of justice)
So, back at work for me. I've got a lingering residual headache and my neck's stiff, but it's within normal limits - I always have a certain level of tension in my shoulders and neck.

I did manage to get something useful done yesterday, in between watching Press Gang Season Two. I do so love that show - when I was a teen I identified with Sarah, the shy yet brilliant journalist. And she got to kiss Spike. *hees* But yeah, packed up most of my books I'm not taking, left some out for mum to borrow (she's on a biography kick, so she'll get to borrow mine), and did the laundry. Go me.

(Changed computers in the middle of this, and discovered that I don't have regular internet access on this one. Thank goodness for the sneaky trick I learned through my work mail server...)

And today it's back to findings. Let's see... a drug overdose, another drug overdose and a car accident. Lots of fun.

"I'm a vegetarian."

"You are? But what do you eat?!"

Well, I thought it would have been obvious. Babies roasted on a spit, of course. *snickers* Silly, silly meat-obsessed people who don't like vegetables...

Forgot to mention that last night I sprung one of the ringtail possums living in my roof on his way out for the evening. I went to hang something up on the line on the back balcony, and there he was, shimmying down the drainpipe, looking at me for all the world like a teenager being caught ducking out the window when they've been grounded. That whole "Oh, crap," expression. I let him go with an admonishment to not go picking fights with the neighbourhood cats and to not get silly on fermented fruit from the local grocer's. And to be home by dawn, young man.

*grins* My possums are so very cute. I hope the next tenants are nice to them; I'd be very cross if anything happened, especially since they don't do any harm at all.

Must be introspective night on my friends list. I've read at least three posts by people doing that 'where is my life heading?' thing.

Spent the early part of the evening taking a long walk down on the seafront. I was going to go to gym, but I've still got that headache, and there's nothing like lifting weights to make you feel like your brain is trying to escape through your nose. I have to say... I love where I live.
