My life as a "House" episode...
May. 4th, 2007 04:15 pmI know, I said I was gone. However, I'm back from the doctor and my guests are AWOL, so some quick results for the folks and anyone else actually wanting to know.
Went to the doctor, discovered that no, my blood test results weren't there. After three weeks. They got me to wait whilst they called the path lab and had them faxed. I waited. An hour, actually. *sighs* And after all that, both x-ray and blood tests came back negative. Nothing wrong with my pancreas, my liver (no hepatitis, no issues from drinking, thank you all), no pregnancy. No bacteria, no infection.
Are we seeing a pattern here?
However, I still have pain. Worse today, actually, than it's been for a while. So, what's the next possible diagnosis? Ulcer of some sort, especially given I've had something like that before. So, I have ulcer medication for four weeks, and if it makes the pain go away, we know where to look next. With one of those deeper x-rays where you have the barium drink and try not to die - we're using the medication as a pointer to avoid me taking another test that comes up negative.
They would have suspected ulcers earlier only I was displaying perfect gallstone symptoms. And the pain's in a different place to last time. *wry* I feel like a House episode.
