deathpixie: (spike and angel)
I love my kits, I really do. They're cute, they're cuddly and while they're not the smartest cats I've ever had, they're certainly entertaining. Except after last night, I am >< this close to offering them up to the first person to take them. Why? Well, basically, someone decided to use my bed instead of the litter box, a fact I was not aware of until, yes you guessed it, I went to bed. And given how late it was, there was no washing my bedding at that hour, so I went to sleep on the couch. Or, rather, I tried. See, not content with evicting me from my room via pungency, my two fuzzy agents of chaos decided last night was the night to chase each other around the apartment, knock stuff over, and yowl periodically. I have no idea what was up, except that for me, who is a pretty light sleeper, it was sheer hell. Bad enough my back was twitchy enough about sleeping on the couch, but every time I dropped off, I was woken by some new noise. My favourite was when they knocked the pizza box off the table with a crash sometime around 3:00 a.m.

I'm so tired right now. Yay coffee.

Positives, since otherwise I'm going to work myself into a major grump.

1) I had dinner with Rob, Johnny's guitar-playing mate, on Saturday. I had a really nice time - dinner with friends is good. Yes, the use of the word "friend" is deliberate. Not making the same mistakes as last time.

2) Walking - I waked Tuesday and Wednesday, missed Thursday and Friday due to weather, walked Sunday through High Park. Too bad that was a spur of the moment thing, since it would have been good to have either/both my camera and someone to throw snowballs at, given the amount of snow there was.

3) Work - got quite a lot done last week, and am organised for this week.

4) A log I'm really excited about.

5) Two new (and very good) book purchases. The hardcover special Marvels collection for $30 (it's normally around ($70-80) and The Artist's Way, which [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] recommended years ago, and which I found for $10. It's basically a philosophy of creativity, and something I think I'll find helpful in kick-starting my brain generally.

deathpixie: (grr)
So, I come home, already half an hour late because of Acts of Alvin - four tapes, all this afternoon, including a motion and accompanying affidavit. I have to wash my bedding, because it reeks of cat pee. What do I find? A nice fresh patch of cat pee on the bed.

Fucking like bastards.

Noses were literally rubbed in it (mum's trick from housetraining cats), but if anyone has hints on why nine month old neutered cats would suddenly start peeing on things, and how to stop it, I'm all ears. Because if this keeps up, they're going to the Humane Society, I swear.

For various reasons, I've decided to repost most (if not all) of my various fic onto my LJ. Mostly so I have a record outside of the laptop with everything in one place, partly because I'm hoping to kick off the old creativity and see if I can't start writing non-RPG stuff again. And tonight, because I've had a No-Good, Very Bad Day, as has everyone else around me, apparently, and I'm trying to be constructive instead of sinking into the funk of 'everyone hates me, no-one wants to talk to me'.

Of course, I could just talk to them first, but hah, that'd be logical

Any way. Spam incoming. I'll try and stick to no more than two a day, depending on length.

Notes: The first ever fanfic I wrote and posted. The Common People project was formalised by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], expanding on a concept from a fic written by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. Essentially, it's the 'ordinary mutants', those in the Marvel mutantverse who aren't heroes in spandex. Those who know my NPCs will recognise my love of the ordinary in the extraordinary.

This one's a shameless self-insert, but there are no unicorns, I promise.

Not my first Gen X fic, but the others need a bit too much formatting and I want to get to bed early tonight. Everett, Jubilee, a shopping mall at Christmas time. Your basic fluff.
