So, last night I met up with "Scrabble in the City", a Facebook group in Toronto that [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] found for me. Every Monday, these guys get together at a pub and play Scrabble for a few hours. It was a really good way to meet people, since with the Scrabble you a) didn't have to talk all the time and b) always had something to fall back on conversation-wise. I didn't do too badly, considering some of these people are tournament level (!) and I think I'm going to learn a hell of a lot more about the game.

They were also nice folks - not all older people by any means, with a good chunk of them being in their early thirties/late twenties by the looks, and not all of them uber nerds as you'd expect. (i.e., they had social skills, yay!)

I even scored my first two "bingoes" (words that used all my letters and garnered me an extra 50 points) for a very, very long time. One of which won a team game.

So yeah, enjoyable evening, and I think I'll be making a habit of it. Especially in summer when they play out on the patio!
