Weary

Long day yesterday - Hamilton and back for the viewing, kept [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] company in a sea of RoomieFamily. I'm glad I went, tho'. Unfortunately, I'm definitely not going to be able to make the funeral - my manager is running on time and unless something gets in the way between now and 1:00 p.m., I'll be signing a long-term contract today.

And damnit, looks like my phone is out of minutes. Of course, on the day I need it. *goes to leave a message on the roomie's phone*

Hopefully I'll find my work ethic at some point and get something actually done today.

Contract update

So, I've signed up for another six months, which makes 18 months on contract. After that, they can roll me over into a permanent full time position without worrying about re-advertising (yay!). So, March 2009, I will have benefits, including a drug plan, which is great considering I spent $200 on my meds yesterday. *winces*

The union is also renegotiating our enterprise bargaining agreement then, so we'll find out then if things improve or stay the same. Or if we go on strike. :P

But yeah, I'm guaranteed the job after another six months. Which is an improvement, neh? Also, mid-year performance reviews are coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm confident I'll be able to wow them with what I've done so far. Which might mean extra money at some point.
