Trust. Love is caring about someone so much that you trust them implicitly. And they care about you so much that they trust you.
I used to think love meant putting someone's happiness before your own, but it really isn't - you have to be able to love and take care of yourself before you can love and take care of someone else. To expect someone else to do it for you... it's unfair and even more, it's doomed.
