Looks like Gerg's suggestion of letting it dry was a good one - I seem to have normal service back. I have killed the speed dial, 'though, and I've lost the number I'm supposed to call for message bank. Here's hoping the one I found on the Telstra website is the right one, otherwise it's another phone call to the help desk. I'm not sure how things like the ring tone and the microphone have gone - can't test those - but we shall see.

I really am a doofus sometimes. *sighs*
