Bad luck runs in threes...

And I say I'm not superstitious.
Moving Bad Luck Number One: I dropped and smashed a glass shelf that goes in the fridge above the vegie crisper whilst I was washing it. Damn thing's survived at least five moves and I drop it whilst cleaning. Bah.
Moving Bad Luck Number Two: Burn the crap out of dinner on Monday night due to unfamiliar stove - it's not a big deal, except it's the only food I have available that I can have and only half of it is edible. Go to bed hungry.
Moving Bad Luck Number Three: And it's a doozy. I tried to use the washing machine tonight and not only has it gone psychotic and won't fill up (the water drains out of the drainage hose as soon as it goes in) said drainage hose is not in the bath where it's supposed to be and I flood the bathroom floor, a small part of the carpet, and, worst of all, the downstairs flat. *winces* Hope the damage isn't too horrendous.
I've decided my brother's washing machine is a thing of evil and resolve never to use it again. I'd rather schlep to the laundromat than risk using it again.
Still, that should be it for the bad luck run. Although I think I can no longer maintain I'm not superstitious. I am, just in a very idiosyncratic way. Bad luck runs in threes, as do punctures on your bike. Things don't happen when you really want them to, and do when you don't - it's kinda half and half if you're not decided either way. *grins* And every house move is accompanied by an illness, either before, during or after. Mild headcold from Toronto this time, but that's clearing up nicely.
And now to unpack the shopping, and find something to eat...
