My body hates me
Feb. 16th, 2005 10:08 pmOr rather, it hates the cold bug that's set up home in it rather abruptly. I mean, yesterday I had a sniffle, not much more than hayfever (I thought it was hayfever). This morning my throat was raw, my nose not much better, I had a coldsore of doom-ish sensation and best of all, a low-grade temperature. I can tell when I have those - bits of me get alternately cold and hot without warning and I have the weirdest freaking dreams. I ended up sleeping through the alarm and didn't call in until half an hour after I was supposed to be there, so when Paul answered and I croaked my name at him, he figured I wasn't going to be in. I suppose the big explains some of the foul mood I've been in this week. Well, apart from the whole anniversary thing.
I spent the day actually in bed most of the time, with a break this evening on the couch with the Buffy tapes. Season 6 is vastly under-rated. I don't know why, but the gradual disintegration of all the main characters interests me a lot more than some of the happy early stuff. It's possible I'm not a very nice person, at least to fictional characters.
Sleep shall happen soon, even despite the napping on and off today. Deathly tired. Actually, just deathly fits rather well. Still, I was good and kept the fluids up - did you know blackcurrant cordial actually tastes good in hot water? I wasn't up for cold today - makes my throat hurt.

And, because I need mindless entertainment and am something of a narcisscist, an entirely self-serving meme. Gakked from... somewhere. Brain all fuzzy.
What would your first thought be if you woke up next to me?
Preferably the me without the cold. At the moment? The Creature from the Black Lagoon's a much more attractive option. ;)

Date: 2005-02-16 07:34 am (UTC)How the heck did I get to Australia, and from there it would probably depend on where clothes were.

Date: 2005-02-16 07:42 am (UTC)I did remember the night before, my first thought would be, "Gee, I wonder if she enjoyed herself last night [playing Twister]. And I wonder if maybe we could play [Twister] again when she wakes up." :P

Date: 2005-02-16 08:56 am (UTC)Firstly, I'd have to wonder, "Okay, now who is this?" cause I've only ever seen a few pictures of you. Once I figured out who you were, there'd probably be a panicked moment of "What the hell am I doing in bed with someone I've never met before offline on the wrong side of the fricking planet?!". After that... maybe a "woo-hoo!". *smirks*

Secnond thought: Have I spontaneously stopped snoring at night?
Third thought: I wonder if she has any toast around here?
