Today was the first day of my four days off, and remarkably, I spent it offline. I called Dex in the morning, spoke to him for the usual three hours about a range of stuff, and then had breakfast and went down to do my laundry, which has been needing doing badly. Lots of clean underwear for me. I also made up a big batch of Basic Pasta Sauce for the purposes of afternoon shift meals - my partner and I arranged for me to do the 1-10:30 shifts again next week since I still need a bit more experience with the after hours stuff. And to look at things more carefully. *pulls face* But yeah, I've got dinner for those two nights. I also did some tidying up, since again, it's been let slide.

I'm noticing one thing with the shifts - they do make me tired. Especially since this week has been insanely busy. Most of the time I don't get my one hour break, so I'm working eight, nine hours straight. Still, I'm learning more every day, and it's getting to the point where I feel reasonably confident with what I'm doing and the advice I'm giving. Of course, I haven't worked with the Critical Two for a week, so...

My birthday was rather pleasant. :) Dinner with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and then drinks with her and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] before heading to the 9:30 showing of Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Spotted both appearances from the original BBC series (*hee!*) and was amused to hear Bill Bailey as the voice of the whale. It might have been the red wine, but overall it was rather fun, and the three of us were courting a beating by actually laughing most of the way through it. A beating since no-one else was, the humourless bastards. *pouts*

Oh, and the music! They used the original series theme! I'm such a geek...

LOL! Yeah, when we went to see it, after the intro "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish" musical number, a lady in the back row sighed "Whatever."

I thought, "Sister, if you're whatevering *that*, you need to get up out of your seat right now and go find another movie, 'cause you're in the wrong flick."

Fortunately, the rest of the audience seemed to enjoy it. I canNOT get that damn song out of my head!!!!!

Oh- and happy late birthday. :)

I have not gotten to see Hitchhiker yet, none of my friends want to see it, they opted for Kingdom of Heaven last night instead and while looking at the various stages of how many times you can cut an arm through chainmail, I wanted humor damnit!!

But oh yes, I shall see Hitchhiker, oh yes, I shall see it!! MWA!!!!

As a side note, any idea where in Canada yer going to live Rossi? I'm pre-assuming toronto. lol
