One thing I've found that helps me, 'cause my nerves are hypersensitive and neckrubs usually just hurt 'cause it feels more like someone's doing a Vulcan Death Pinch or something, is a rice sock.
You can buy 'em, but you can make 'em too, and probably for cheaper. Get a long tube sock (preferably clean of course ^_^) and pour some uncooked rice in it until it's almost full, but still flexible, and sew the end of it shut tightly.
Then, throw it in a microwave for about 2 1/2 minutes (experiment a bit) or until it's nice and hot. It'll deliver nice hot warmth to your neck or whatever body part you put it on.
