Twiller, grief is grief. There's no right or wrong way to go about it, and we all have our reactions. I hadn't really spoken to Ki for at least a year, possibly two, and yet this is tearing me up like you wouldn't believe. But I'm also going to be all right, because I have people who support me and because I'm giving myself permission to feel just as bad as I want to feel, regardless of how well or how long I knew her. Ki was a wonderful person, a good friend, and the world, and in particular, our corner of it, is made incredibly poorer by the loss.
Call people. Email them. Catch them on AIM or even drop into #subcafe for old times' sake and to catch up with people. It's a poor substitute for physical comfort, I know, but you take what you can get, sometimes.
