I periodically have the guilts, where I tell myself I should be in touch more. But when I say this to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] (who would be Phil Foster, btw), he reminds me that there are friends you don't have to that with. You can not see or speak to them for six weeks or six months or even six years, and when you pick each other up again, it's like that time never passed. Some friends are just like that.
I guess the communication frenzy I'm on now is because with Ki, I didn't get that chance. I read her LJ and rarely commented but always paid attention, and when she fell ill did all I could to let her know I was thinking of her... but there just wasn't enough time for that chat, that email, to pick things up again. So, just touching base with folks, I guess. Picking up those threads before they're lost completely. There's some bridge building I'd like to try as well, but that's another story. *wry*
