Caving to the inevtiable

People warned me when I moved here that I'd spend at least some of the first month sick. Well, it's happened - I picked up a cold from somewhere and I'm currently on the couch, wrapped in a blanket coughing my lungs up and feeling generally crappy. Timing was bloody awful too - I started feeling off on Friday, when we were heading to London (Ontario, that is) to have dinner with Dex's mum and stepdad. We caught the train up, which was cool and much shorter than the Wodonga trip, and stayed the night at their place after some really good Mexican food. Saturday was [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s birthday party, but unfortunately I was feeling pretty crappy and so wasn't able to drink much. Or at all, really. Two beers at Lee's place and that was it.

Today I woke up and realised that things had definitely gotten worse overnight. So I spent most of the day curled up on Lee's couch watching Undergrads on dvd and then the boys killing things in a Star Wars computer game. Fell asleep in the car on the way home, having gotten a lift from more of Dex's mates from school and plan an early night.

There's a definite advantage to this roomie thing, tho'. I've got a blanket, tea, and soup. Without having to do anything. *feels coddled*

In other news, it's blowing a gale out there at the moment. Seriously - I nearly got knocked over getting out of the car...

If I were a more unpleasant person I would mention that we've just had a stunningly warm weekend here with temperatures up into the low thirties and blazing sunshine, and probably add that I've spent the last weekend either out on the river or on the beach and am developing a disgustingly good tan.

However, I'm not. So I won't.

Instead I'll just make jokes about you being allergic to Canada ;)
