You're adorable. *grins* You're clever and funny and incredibly talented and I can't wait for the day when you manage to gain the confidence I know you're capable of since you are going to be a pretty incredible individual. Not that you aren't already, but Happy Bounce is my favourite sort. ;) You've also got huge amounts of compassion and care a lot about people, which I'm lucky enough to be included in.

Seriously? Man, it's hard to put into words. Because you're Mel, the one who makes me laugh no matter what state I'm in, one of the few people in the world who I'll talk with for five hours on the phone and not get bored, the person who isn't afraid to call me a doofus but who also knows when it's best to let me vent and get it out of my system. Because you're funny and smart and a hell of a lot of fun to be with and whose writing can make me laugh or make me cry.

That enough? There's more, but it involves Cosmos and smooching. ;)

*grins* Okay, actual answer now. Talking to you at Kielle's wake, I was drawn to your wit, your humour and your easy-going intelligence. We were strangers to each other when we got there, but I left feeling I'd met someone (several someones, actually) who I'd like to get to know better and consider friends. it's hard to put into words, but you're defnitely my sort of people. :)

I had salad, with gravy, at our office Thanksgiving lunch last week.

Not on purpose, mind you, but the gravy from my mashed potatoes got into my ceasar salad. It was... interesting.

Because you're my RaphieSis. *grins* You're the younger sister I never had, who makes me laugh and gives me fairy floss to see the ensuing sugar high. You've got a wonderful zany sense of humour and a core of determination that's hugely admirable - when you fix your mind on something, you do it. You might not trust people generally, but when you decide someone's one of yours, you'll do anything for them. It makes your friendship something of a privilege.

You're fun to be with and incredibly generous (driving me all over LA several times comes to mind...) and you're not afraid to do what it takes to get your life in order, such as moving cross-country. There's also the breakup stuff - a bad thing to have in common, but it helped, hugely.

I'll always be grateful for the lift from Toronto to Baltimore, not just 'cause it saved us on busfare but because it gave me the chance to talk to you more than I ever had. Another person whose humour makes me laugh and who I enjoy being around. I also think you're a great writer - logging with you has always been fun and I'm going to miss the relationship between our two girls.

Another reason for why I'm glad of XP - we'd talked before, but not a huge amount, and over the last two years of the game I've gotten to know you in your own right, not just as one of the Vortex. ;) And I'm very glad I have, since you're definitely one of 'my' people. You've talked sense into me when things have been getting to me on more than one occasion and you've made me laugh out loud on the work computer more than once. I love the way you write, especially the Kaylee and Wash fics, and I think you're just adorable. It's been great, seeing you gain your confidence over the last few years.

You're a sweet guy who gives great shoulder rubs and isn't afraid to dance. You also are doing an incredibly brave thing right now, moving across the country away from your support network, but I think it'll pay off, not just in terms of the job but in terms of helping you build the confidence you need. It's not easy, but you're doing it, and that's admirable.

I had to tell the salad with gravy story to a few co-workers (and my boss) as well because 1. I actually ate the parts of the salad with the gravy on it, and 2. I kept giggling at it.

Apparantly that sort of thing just screams "There's a story here." to people.

I'm definitly going to miss that - Amanda helped keep MA grounded. Without that, it's harder to keep her out of Cordelia-land with the arrogant and the fashion-obsessed.

After the grappling class, I'm convinced Jen has a gravity-manipulation power, because no matter what I did, it was near impossible to make her move.

Adn then she murdered my bra.

(Seriously. Grabbed my dobuk jacket, and got the tanktop and bra strap as well. Bra died about 3 hours later.)
