Most sports injuries (read strains from over-use or over-extension) need heat, rest and anti-inflammatories such as Neurofen for the pain and swelling. So the eucapyptus-smelling goop is good. :)
Things like bruises, sprains (like when you twist your ankle) etc are best with ice, elevation and rest. :)
Or at least that's what ten years of martial arts injruies have taught me. :)
