One: Never install Acrobat Reader on top of an older version of Acrobat Reader. That leads to madness and misery and woe.
Two: Go into Control Panel (assuming Windows box) and use Add/Remove Programs to rip out the Acrobat Reader entirely. Reboot, then reinstall the new (by the by, they're on v8 now) Acrobat Reader. Then try your file again.
