Been a while since I mentioned this...

deathpixieMostly because guitar lessons have been few and far between due to a clash of schedules. But last night Johnny came over to do the thing, and I have a new song to learn ("Better Be Home Soon", by Crowded House. The strumming pattern is... interesting. But fun.), plus I'm doing pretty all right for someone who doesn't practice nearly enough.
I'd forgotten how much better I feel after one of those sessions.
Afterwards, the roomie and I went to the Griffin for burgers, because we were hungry and couldn't be arsed cooking. Of course, Johnny showing up as we were thinking of leaving meant a late night (and a late morning for me - I'm here until 5:45 p.m. tonight due to late appearance) but I needed it. The roomie and I have been so busy lately, we haven't had a chance to just sit and talk. Well, without me bursting into tears at some point during the proceeding because I'm mood swinging all over the place atm.
My plan to look after myself is doing reasonably well. I've got the vitamin cocktail of a morning - evenng primrose oil, B12, D and a stress formula that's heavy in the B vitamins, zinc, E and copper. I've also been walking more - I get off the subway two stops before mine, and walk up the hill home. The plan is to eventually make that three stops, but the snow adds to the difficulty level as it is. And I think I'm seeing results - I know I'm starting to feel a bit less fragile than I have. Baby steps. I really do need to make sure I eat better on weekends, tho' - I put myself into a serious funk on Sunday with the blood sugar doing the rollercoaster thing.
Work is work. Vera, my new offsider, has been off sick the past two days, and Jane's got the flu again - or, rather, still, since she's been sick since October. We finished another big case, although the email I got from the police this morning was a worry; apparently Corrections Canada released the guy on parole, despite the fact he's gotten another twelve months' jail. Not sure what's going on there.
Chocolate has also been appearing on my desk. And candy canes. I have plenty of stocking fillers this year - got another one this morning, a key lime chocolate orange thing. You know the ones that fall apart into segments? One of those.
Christmas shopping is mostly complete. I need to pick up something for Greg - had a brainwave this morning on what to get him, since guys = difficult to shop for stocking-wise - do the cards for the work people (and find some kind of cheap little gift since people have been giving me stuff *meeps*), and do some serious printing for Johnny and Rob. When in doubt, give the new geeks fanfic 'classics'. ;)
