deathpixie: (are you stupid or something?)

So, this morning, lying in bed trying to squeeze a bit more sleep out of myself before I get up when I hear the roomie's alarm go off.

'Crap,' I think, knowing his alarm is set for 7:50 a.m. 'It's later than I thought it was.' Curious as to why my own alarm hadn't gone off, I grabbed the clock and peered at it, deciding that somehow I had re-set my alarm for 7:00 a.m. and then not actually turned it on.

Roomie gets out of shower, I get in. And as I'm stumbling back out, wrapped in my towel, I come across the roomie putting on his shoes ready to leave. I'm about to let him know I'm apparently running late when he asks, giving me a strange look: "What are you doing up so early?"

"Huh? What time is it?" I ask.

"Sevenish," he replies. "I have to go into work early."

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I managed to confuse the time the alarm was set for and the actual time. My alarm was set for 7:50, and when I looked at it, it was actually 7. So, needless to say, I a) had time to footle around online, b) dry my hair properly (I have new Gloop, and it's so sleek and shiny today! Hardly any frizz!) and c) get to work on time even with getting a bagel on the way.

I'm such a doofus sometimes.

Have you ever done that in the middle of the night? I once woke up, got showered, dressed and was about to reach for my bag when I realized it was only like, 5 am. XD

You and I are having A Morning, it sounds like. My fav. Canadian AFP staff member just offered to kidnap me up to Ottawa, which amused me, though. ;)

Ages ago (high school age) I woke up, looked bleary-eyed at my alarm clock that hadn't gone off ("oh, it's 6:30 a.m.") stumbled around the house for a while, and sat down for breakfast.

I was halfway through the food, wondering idly "Ok, chili for breakfast. Odd, but not that odd for my family" when the nutrients finally hit me. It wasn't 6:00am on Monday. It was 6:00p.m., and still Sunday evening.

I've done that. I've also been so out of it that I once got stuck in a shirt that I'd hung up still buttoned and forgotten to take the coathanger out of, before putting it on.
