Annoying brain...

My brain is particularly bugging me today. I have "Sucks To Be Me" from Avenue Q stuck in my head - specifically, Kate's lines about how her life sucks because she's pretty and smart and has a big heart and yet doesn't have a boyfriend/date. Your brain is truly annoying when it's making you identify with a Muppet from a Broadway satire, I can tell you.

My brain also bugging me because I didn't get a lot of sleep, and thus brain doesn't want to work. This is helping contribute to the "meh" state the song is generating, but knowing I get "meh" when I'm sleep deprived helps me remind myself I am not a Muppet. Especially that Muppet.

Lastly, the "meh" means I have no energy for anything resembling a crisis right now, which means any moment now, a mailing list or friendslist will explode. Because I am Murphy's bitch. Apologies to anyone who might need me today for anything more than the basics - my reserves are run dry today.

There's sun outside. I think I'll take myself out for lunch today. Maybe sushi. The "meh" would appreciate it.

When I get a song stuck in my head, I sing the showtunes from 'Annie'.

Which is not much help, because then you have 'THE SUN'LL COME OOOOUT!' stuck in your head, but desperate times and all that.

Also, no crisis here! Just exhaustion. BUT NO CRISIS. Fin.

You know, when the "mehs" attack my brain, I remind myself that the "mehs" have my brain and pretty much ignore everything my brain tells me until it passes. I usually treat myself with good food and lots of sleep.
