fact that they took the raw sexuality out of a VAMPIRE tale just baffled me.
That baffles me too, over the last couple of years I've read dozens of urban/fantasy romance vampire stories, and while they all differ on how good vampires are (from totally evil to just like humans more or less), they all have them as very sexual, and that sex appeal is used as a predator's arsenal.
I think Meyers misses the whole point. But the lack of sex also makes me wonder how anyone could see it as escapist. If Bella got it on with Edward, even suggestively (for the teens), no matter how badly it was written I'd get the appeal.
