Meme ahoy!
Feb. 18th, 2010 04:50 pmThis one looks interesting and I'm posting it mainly because I'm curious to see what certain folks on my friends list come up with. Nabbed from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
THE MEME
1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.
Prompt by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]:
A show about the different people who get snowed in together in a cabin. Their lives turn out to be linked in surprising ways. Can be comedy or crime.
Title: Cabin Fever.
Type: Gilligan's Island type castaway comedy. Twelve half-hour episodes, one season only.
Opening Credits: North to Alaska by Johnny Horton.
Plot: In a cabin in remote Alaska lives a wealthy, but extremely antisocial old man, eschewing any kind of contact with the outside world. His self-imposed exile is interrupted with the arrival of a woman and her two teenaged children, claiming to be lost hikers, plus two snowboarders, on their way to find the "ultimate slope" that the woman picked up hitch-hiking. As night is falling he begrudgingly lets them stay the night, only for an unprecedented snowstorm to block all roads in and out. Thrown together, the group must learn to live together until spring and the thaw which will release them.
Over the course of the series, it's revealed that the woman is in fact the recluse's daughter and her children his grandchildren, born to the woman who broke his heart so badly he cast off the world. She has come to try and weasel her way into his will and inherit, but over the course of time she realises that family is more important than money.
The two snowboarders are revealed to be rather inept burglars, who spend their time sneaking around trying to find the fabled cache of money reputed to be somewhere in the house. Shenanigans ensue when the two grandchildren realise what they're up to and just as covertly counter their efforts Home Alone style. Things are further complicated when one of them falls for the mother and begins to doubt their original purpose.
The series finale brings all the elements together as an avalanche threatens to engulf the house and they are forced to hike to civilisation, relying on each other to survive.
Cast:
John Cullum as Henry Chamberlain - the hermit

Amy Brenneman as Marcy Brawn - the mother

Freddie Highmore as Tommy Brawn - the younger son

Kay Panabaker as Christie Brawn - the elder daughter.

Macaulay Culkin as Matt Stowe - one of the snowboarder/burglars

and introducing...
Jason Derulo as Ben Browder - the other snowboarder/burglar and romantic interest for Mercy.
