That sounds weird-coincidentally like an injury I had a couple of years ago... big slice into outer side of right thumb? That really sucks - and makes typing a literal pain for quite some time.
on the up-side, with the pain-reinforcement, you do learn to space with the left thumb pretty fast. Good luck with the cleaning, and I hope it gets better soon!
And in the only-I-could-do-this files, since I saw your last post... I did mine walking down a completely empty street. Tripped over nothing, did a spectacular pratfall for the entertainment of absolutely nobody, and managed to tear the side of my thumb almost off on the *gutter*. And skin my knee on the bitumen. Still got the scars. At least yours involved an edged implement.
