You're making new neural connections (our brains like when we do this, it keeps them healthy). All these things make you happy, and so you feel good.
Maybe a once a week 'five good things' might be a good cognitive-behavior-therapy exercise. Keep you in a positive state of mind, and break the cycle of depression and anxiety. There's a cycle - sort of a 'I'm so anxious, I want to do this thing that might help but I'm anxious about it, I can't stop thinking about my anxiety, I talk about my anxiety a lot because it's so present in my mind, now I'm MORE anxious." cycle that happens (for both anxiety and depression) - there's some 'just do it' theories about breaking that cycle, and some schools of thought that suggest that forcing yourself to be positive and get out of that cycle can be really beneficial in breaking it.
