An Evening of One's Own.

deathpixieWell, not long off the phone and David can't make it over tonight - he's having dinner with his brother - and in a way, I'm glad. I'm still really tired, and not really in the mood for what I normally get up to with David. Besides, it turns out I'm going to Corryong court with Peter tomorrow (thanks for telling me, guys! *humphs*) which means I'll be getting up at six-thirty. Bleah.
So, plans are for a quiet domestic evening tonight. Ironing, watching TV, maybe a spot of writing. But first, I'm going to go make dinner - zucchini slice, considering we're being invaded by the stuff. ;) It's finally cooled down enough after the storms of last night to do this stuff (cooking and ironing, that is) and in all honesty I don't feel up to anything particularly strenuous.
Big dramas at the police station yesterday - one of the prisoners escaped from the cells. People are still trying to figure out how, and the escapee has legged it north into NSW and is long gone. Which means our list today was greatly reduced. Of course, it didn't mean we finished any earlier - everyone from the magistrate down was dawdling over everything and then we still ended up sitting until 4.30. Feh. And another day stuck in court tomorrow, although Corryong keeps me on my toes as there aren't any computers there and I have to write out all the orders by hand. Remind me to get mum and dad's scanner working so I can put the forms on the Book and do it that way. Although that would require the obtaining of a printer with a USB port, which requires that funny coloured paper which hides from me. Still, pay day today, even though all of it is marked for other purposes than actually enjoying anything. *sighs* It sucks being responsible.
Okay, enough sitting around. Time to cook. I might be back on later.
