How's work going?

Work is... not terribly work-y at all. ;)

First day at the PERIN court and things are extremely quiet. HUGE change form Melbourne Civil, with the phones ringing only once an hour maybe, and hardly anyone at the counter. I'm apparently getting computer training this afternoon, but for now I've done the tour, had the talk from two supervisors, and had a union meeting (and the results of that particular meeting will become obvious this Friday *grins*). So I don't really have a clue what I'm doing - that's a new experience, after six years of being the 'gun' clerk. ;) But I'm sure I'll catch up.

How're things in the snowy North?

The Great Ice Land

Well, right now, the sum of my thought processes goes something like "Ooh, my tummy hurts." I forgot to eat before church, so i hadn't eaten for eight hours or so when I got back. So I gulped down a third of a bar of chocolate and went to make some dinner. Have now finished off all my spaghetti sauce, but was so hungry that I ate a whole heap of bread as well as a huge plate of spaghetti and now I'm so full I'm going to explode. :)

The weather over the last few days has actually been relatively warm - all the snow from the storm on Tuesday is melting. Unfortunately, it then freezes into ice, so walking is treacherous, to say the least. It's also a lot uglier to have opaque ice lumps covering everything than all that icing sugar snow.

I'm very happy with my financial prospects - I have a job tutoring a lady on the east side of the city in various computer-y things. I basically get paid to sit and talk to her for an hour. Very cool. :)
She's even volunteered to make it more worth my while by trying to recruit more students!

I've started a new account at the SFF writing workshop and have started a new story. I really have to finish one sometime. Or even get further than the start. But then again, I don't think my writing is going anywhere. You, on the other hand, are commanded to finish "Death and the Art..." IMMEDIATELY!!! (I have every right to demand more, it's all your fault that you got me hooked. You must have known reading it was addictive.... hehehe)

Okay, I'll go vote for you- er, I'll go vote in a bit. One thing first, though. (Crisis Point, open series) Does that mean there's more than one of them? (Or there will be sooner or later? *hopeful look* *g*)

And what, you can only win a place in the Hall of Fame once? I guess that makes sense. (Actually, I think I'll go get some sleep first. Then I'll go vote.^_^)

"Crisis Point" is indeed an open series, meaning it's run along the lines of Alicia McKenzie's Shadowlands series - other people can write stories, provided they're authorised by the creator. There are two other "Crisis Point" fics, one by Mouse Carcass, one by Bounce - I'll track them down for you later.
