Change of scene.

Nothing like a change of location to perk you up. Yes, I was at work, but it wasn't my small flat, and after four days holed up being miserable with the world, I was ready for new surroundings.
Things that happened today that were nifty:
a) My co-workers got me a birthday cake, seeing how on Friday we already had stacks of food, and I wasn't in on Monday or Tuesday. I wasn't expecting it, since some of us had done lunch, and had no idea until they told me. Still, any excuse for chocolate cake at our work. *grins*
b) Amanda called me. That was enough to put a huge smile on my face. Can't wait for Saturday.
c) Bounce also called. *happydances* After half a week of not talking to anyone at all, it was great to talk her ears off.
d) One returning home I had to take my videos back, and then I went for a wander, not wanting to be home yet. I walked up Lygon Street and unded up at the Thai Nee Cafe (got to love a restaurant with a punny name), and picked up green veggie curry and rice for dinner and lunch tomorrow. I've been craving Thai food ever since I got this flu, and it was good. Nice and hot. :)
e) Due to the stealth technology of my message bank, which saves phone numbers of people who call and don't leave a message, I caught Phil and talked his ears off. *grins* Can you tell I missed talking to people?
f) I posted my birthday cheque to my credit union today, so I'll have money to buy new contact lenses (mental note, must ring clinic tomorrow). I also have three medical receipts to take to Medicare and get refunds on, which will total close to another hundred. I think it's time to start up that interest-bearing savings account. And pay Amanda back the money I owe her from AusCon. It's nice, not having to scrimp.
And that's it for the nifty things. I think I'll get back on the bike tomorrow, first time since last Thursday. *yikes*
