deathpixie: (drop bear)

So, I've finally gone and done it - there's a bunch of work people donating blood next Tuesday, and I've signed up to join them. Yep, me, with the needle phobia and the extreme nervousness about blood tests. But since the last blood test I had went so well, I decided it was time to do my public duty and go and donate. Especially since, iirc, my blood type is B positive, which tends to be one of the ones that run out regularly. I needed to go with someone else to avoid chickening out, so I have Liesa to make sure I don't disappear or anything. And now my iron and B12 levels are back to normal, I should be fine.

Mental note - ban self from computer after an evening of drinking. Ignore the previous patheticness. And yes, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], I did drink too fast, what makes you ask? *grins wryly* I'm okay, just having the usual post-visit comedown, I guess. And my flat was freezing cold when I got home.

Still no news about Dad and his fellow vets in Canberra, which sucks. The welcome home march for the Iraq troops is this weekend, and yet the fate of veterans isn't newsworthy. Jerks.

Congrats! Giving blood is one of the best things a person can do. I wish I could (taking antibiotics regularly).
