Or maybe it's my habit of pre-writing posts in my head that's gotten the better of me...
Any way, there is hot water. Or at least lukewarm in the shower, which seems to be a function of the hot water heater being in the kitchen and there being distance in between. One thing this kerfuffle has decided is that I'll most likely be moving when my lease expires in January - I don't think I could handle another winter of no heating and insipid water temperatures. Besides, I want a balcony, dammit. ;) At least looking will be easier, with more time, and better transport (being the bike).
Speaking of moving, I changed desks today. Tiffany, the person I'm replacing in Appeals, is away today, and since she moved her stuff out of her cubicle yesterday, it made sense to set up shop today. That way on Monday there won't be two people moving stuff around. I think I'm going to like it here better - there's windows, which means much better light, and more space, and no Big Brother talk. ;) I'm still doing my old job - I start Appeals on Monday, with my first court day on Tuesday. Tiff's coming with me to show me the ropes, since we haven't had a chance to do that yet.
I quite like the idea of learning new stuff - I need to keep the ol' grey matter exercised.
Once again feedback has proven its fickleness. I posted a short Collective Mutants fluff piece that I wrote for Mel last night, and I already have four bits of feedback. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. It's just "When Toasters Go Bad" was very short, and written in the space of a couple of hours. It possibly even has typos in it. Unlike "Death and the Art..." which I've been slaving over for the past two years, and which wins CBFFAs, but gets very little feedback. I guess it's just part of that weird and contradictory human nature thing.
Still, I do like to get feedback. It makes me all warm and fuzzy. Which is good at work except that people give me strange looks when I start doing the Chair Booty Dance.

Date: 2003-07-10 07:40 pm (UTC)Man, I wish I could see that. Does your office have cameras? :p Ah, but seriously, maybe it got more feedback because it was just a one-shot thing, not a long-term project. People who are new to the list, or don't remember the last part, might not feel comfortable feedbacking. Or I could be wrong, as I've never pretended to be an expert. *g*
But I still loved the fic. :)
