I already posted this in Hly's comments section, but I'll do it here too.

What is your favorite:

Flower? Daffodils - they're so cheerful.

Gemstone? Emerald's my birthstone, and I love green. Also opal, 'cause it's so cool and glittery.

Metal (gold, silver, brass, etc)? Silver in summer, when I have a tan, gold for winter.

Animal? Small green lizards. And cats.

Fragrance? Rosemary and lavendar

Color? Red

Car? *snorts* Yeah, right. ;) My dream bike would be a custom built Cannondale mountain bike.

Language? Italian.

Style (classical, elegant, casual, eccentric, etc)? Casual, bordering on grot, although I've been told I scrub up well. And there's the sporty look when I'm on the bike.

Food? Thai, pasta, spinach and cheese pie.

Outfit? Casual, my favourite worn jeans and my Kathmandu lizard t-shirt. Formal, the little black velvet dress I wore at Dexcon in 2000.

Do you wear:

T-Shirts? Always.

Earrings? Got two sets of holes, but frequently forget to switch.

Anklets? Not really.

Bracelets? Sometimes.

Tattoos? Not yet. Want one, tho'.

Necklaces? Occasionally - looking for a new one now.

Rings? Only if they aren't large or have pointy bits - I get caught on things otherwise. Plain bands.

Birkenstocks? I have something like them, a pair of Teva sports sandals that I wear constantly in summer.

Sandals? Apart from my Tevas? Sometimes.

Hemp jewelry? I would if I knew where to find some - I'm a firm believer in industrial hemp.

Religious symbols? None. I'd need a religion first. ;)

Nail Polish? That would require nails. *grins* Mine get hacked off before they get long enough.

Halloween costumes? No - Aussies don't do the Halloween thing much.

Have you ever:

Bungee jumped? No, although I'm curious to try.

Climbed a mountain? Yes - both bushwalking and rock climbing. Nothing quite like the sensation of climbing on live rock.

Gone swimming in the ocean? Frequently.

Gotten a speeding ticket? *chuckles* I only wish I could get that fast on my bike.

Won something at a state/local fair? You mean those amusements? Once or twice, but nothing much.

Won playing Bingo? Nope.

Been on stage? In a few school and Girl Guide productions.

Taken a walk in the rain? Yes. :) And gone for rides as well, although that's not usually by choice.

What's the:

First thing you thought when you woke up this morning? "Bugger, work."

Funniest thing you've heard recently? The Awful Truth with Mike Moore. The man is a legend.

Last road sign you remember reading? The street sign at the roundabout near home. "Pearce Street (left), Yarralumla Drive (straight ahead), Felltimber Creek Road (right)."

Oddest thing in your room right now? The magistrate bopper Mel gave me. Odd but very fun.

And last but not least:

What do you want to be when you grow up? Happy. And maybe a journalist of some kind. *grins*

It seems I'm spending an awful lot of my time waiting for things lately. Waiting for the magistrate to be ready, waiting for the solicitors to be ready, waiting for BRM to move out, waiting for the new court to open so I'm working full time, waiting for Dexcon... Right now I'm waiting for Buffy to come on. It's almost if this year is some kind of psuedo-year, like it doesn't really count in the scheme of things. Probably not a good way to think about your life, but there it is. I just feel like I can't get on with anything until later - next month, next year, whatever.

I haven't written anything for a while - been too busy, and not exactly inspired. Oh, the ideas are there, and the characters are yammering away in the back of my head, but I'm finding I lack any real urge to write them down. It's not worrying me overmuch: it's not new, this non-motivation, and it will be gone as quietly as it arrived - when I need it least, I suspect. Frank (my Muse) is sneaky like that. I would like to work on that Buffy/Hellblazer idea, 'though. I have the initial scene, and a general idea of how the first chapter is going to run, just need to pull my finger out and actually do some writing next time I'm at the computer.

News of the Week: I've been a bit slack on the day-to-day tidbits this week. Well, considering it's Wednesday, it's not like the week's finished, but you know what I mean.

Monday was a great evening - Dhugal and BRM made dinner (BRM's risotto with sun-dried tomato, leek, mushroom and spinach), and laid on a great spread. Tablecloth, candles, wine, the lot. I supplied dessert, with a walk to the shop with Dhugal after dinner (him still carrying his wine glass!) for mango cream ice cream. The other three had been riding all weekend, having a great time (and miraculously missing the rain), and so after dinner we all just lay around the lounge room, drinking muscat and listening to music and talking.

Tuesday... lessee. Getting out of bed was hard after the festivities of the night before. I wasn't hung over, just tired from the late night. And work wasn't a great prospect, with Mr Hardy our magistrate and a longish list. He's a great bloke, a good magistrate, but he's slow. He rarely finishes a list in the time allowed. He did surprise me, tho' - we got through pretty much everything, only getting snagged by a late remand.

Wednesday: more of the same. One interesting case, a matter of false report to police. A woman claimed she had been raped, mobilising the local police into a search for the unknown rapist, only to confess the next day it was a cover-up after she'd actually had sex with her massuse. She'd been reccommended massage as a therapy for stress, and in an appalling display of unprofessionalism, he seduces her. Not that she was much of a looker or anything - just an ordinary farm woman in her fifties. The case was rather sad, but it ended okay; a good behaviour bond until May next year.

Tomorrow might be more interesting - we have a coronial inquest on a man found floating in a lake. Paula will be clerking, as I don't have Coroner's training, but I might poke my head in if we're quiet in the office. And at least I get a chance to catch up with my filing for the past two days. :P

Okay, looks like Buffy is imminent, so I'll be leaving you. Welcome to Moobie and Quizzical, who recently added me to their Friends lists. *chuckles* It astounds me that people find my ramblings interesting, especially to non-ficcers. ;) I hope I keep the interst up, people.
