Social Whirlwind...
Nov. 22nd, 2001 11:32 pmIsn't it weird how you won't do anything social for ages, and then everything happens at once? Maybe it's just me. *grins*
I went out tonight with my book discussion group for dinner, at this wonderful Thai place in Albury. Stuffed ourselves silly and drank to our heart's content on $22 each. Which is pretty good for up here - one thing I've noticed, the good food costs more. Had a great time, talking and laughing nad joking - fo some reason I'm always wittier with people I know less well. Or maybe these people just like my sense of humour more. Any way, Julie (our Esteemed Leader) and I discovered we're both keen to see He Died With A Falafel In His Hand which is currently showing in a limited capacity in Albury, and so arranged to go see it this weekend - I have to go buy the local paper tomorrow to check the times.
Tomorrow night I'm going to some kind of law firm funciton - Christmas party of some sort, I think, I'm not really sure - in Beechworth, which I'm kinda looking forward to. I like going out. :) But only in moderate doses - I doubt I'll ever become a raging party animal. I like the occasional dose of peace and quiet. Leanne said tonight that even when I was a kid, I was happy in my own company. Which is why I'm enjoying the house-sitting - lots of time and space to myself.
Gotta make the most of my part-timage over the next month and a bit - full time from January. :) It's going to be a bit of a shock, after a year of being slack.
Not much else to say, except to reiterate how much I'm looking forward to next weekend. I get to see people! And not just any people, but fic people! Cool Aussie-type fic people! Roll on AussieCon! ;)
