Catch-22

Riding a mountain bike on dirt whilst in a state of emotional turmoil is not a good idea, because it generally means you aren't paying enough attention to what you're doing. But I've found it's something that tends to de-funk me, especially when I'm angry. So I guess I'm just going to have to put up with the gravel rash or find another means of exhausting myself.

Ow.

And you always hurt more the day after a spill, when all the bruises and whiplash comes through.

Owie ow.

There was a Chrissie card from CynJen in my box today when I got home, or rather, a "Happy January" card. *grins* Either way, it was a nifty surprise after a long day.

Work was... worky. Not too busy, but people had crappy timing today - I got someone in with a fairly serious intervention order matter at 4.30, which took me until 5 (when we close) to get done. And then I had to run the papers over to the police station before I left. I was horribly clumsy today, mainly due to my having bruised my shoulder in yesterday's spill - I didn't really notice it until I got on the bike and rode to work. It's very stiff, and hurts to lift far (and guess who had to keep pulling files out from shelves above her head today?) and is making typing tricky. So no chat for me tonight; I'll have to find a non-Net way to entertain myself, like catch up on my phone calls. ;) By the end of the day, my shoulder and back were killing me, so I was glad to see five, that's for sure. Got a lot done, though, which is always good.

The other thing in my mailbox was a personal ad my Dad found in the local paper "Professional Man Seeks Love" - the reason why I got it is because said professional man is into cycling and bushwalking and is looking for an active and adventurous person. *rolls eyes* My parents are dedicating themselves to finding me a bloke. Although, if he wasn't looking for the love of his life, just a friend, I might be interested - we did have a lot in common, besides the cycling and walking stuff. Tell me, is it sad of me to be thinking of answering this?

*winces* Ow, no more typing, according to the shoulder. Catch you later.

Just thought I'd pause along the way and say that I had a very pleasant evening. I finally got off my arse and called David, and he sounded pleased to hear from me. I also solved his mobile phone mystery - the number was wrong by one digit. :P He suggested a trip with BRM and Greta and him and me up to Mount Buffalo soon, before school starts, to go climbing and stuff. Which would be excellent. I suggested Australia Day weekend, since I get the Monday off and could make it a long weekend. :)

Then BRM himself called, to let me know he'll be back Wednesday or Thursday. He has to replace the head gasket in the Mini, hence the lack of a sure date. He also apologised for not giving me rent money, as his check book was up here.

And then, after dinner, I had a nice long talk with my RaphieSis, which cheered us both up. Can't wait until April and the next GASP. Now off to bed I hie, before the AussieAngel comes after me with that flaming sword of hers. ;)
