deathpixie: (drunk)
And finally I have an icon for these weekend wrapups! Many thanks to Sparrow (and Hush, who found the piccie in the first place), for making me an new and rather appropriate one!

The fact I'm using the drunken pixie-person icon is an indication that this past weekend was something of a party weekend. And so it should be, after the immense bust my birthday weekend turned out to be. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] came down for a conference, and she, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I had a Saturday of Do As We Please. Which included cocktails at the Soul Train (and [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], you're going to love the Cosmos there!), CSC shots at my place (red wine for Phil, who could handle only so many girly frou frou drinks), and then the 9th Ward, a nightclub in the city which was recommended to me by someone on the melbournemaniacs community. The festivities started at 3-ish, conluded at 4.30 in the morning, and basically it was a whole lot of fun. Even the guys on the tram who appeared to be having sex at one point. *grins* And I had the most polite attempt at a pick up I've ever been the target of - at the Ward, there's a polite tap on my shoulder, and apology for startling me (I'm geared for random gropings in nightclubs, not taps on the shoulder), and this rather cute guy asks me if Phil's my partner. *giggles* I told him no, we were just good mates, and then spent the rest of the evening chatting to him in between dancing. I didn't get his name, tho' - I was going to ask, but got kind of distracted by the music every time I meant to - I'm a bit one-minded when I go dancing, I'm there to dance and that's pretty much it. ;)

Sunday - the Melbourne Maelstrom gathered around two and went hunting for lunch, and then went to the Den of Iniquity Otherwise Known As Crown Casino to go see The Matrix Reloaded. I think we would have enjoyed it more had we not been in the second row from the front - there's a reason why I hate the cinema at Crown; it has stupid things like allocated seating. If it had been the usual free-for-all, we would have had much better seats. As it was I still have a stiff neck, and woke up with another headache. But the movie was pretty, and that's all I'm going to say so I don't torment the Brit ficcers who have to wait another week. ;)

Dinner was had in Russell Street at our usual Asian place, and then we wandered home, it being 11pm and me having work the next day. *grins* Although having Amanda staying with me meant that we sat up til 12.30 talking about everything and anything, and I had to really push it to get to work this morning - luckily for me, I had a tail wind and just flew. Got honked at by some idiot too. *shrugs*

*stratches contentedly* You know, I haven't had such a good weekend in ages. And the B12 energy is still with me - I'm tired, but it's a sleep deprivation tired, not that dead feeling I had. No training tonight - I got in a bit late and will miss the start of it - but Wednesday is definitely on.

Oh, and Amanda needs to finish her AusCon fic - it's that funny.

Damn, Amanda's not going to be there when I get home. *pouts* Wanna Queen of Darkness for my own, dammit. ;)
