deathpixie: (pixie)
I knew I should have gotten myself a new inner tube for the bike when that last one went kablooey. Only I kept forgetting, and this morning my luck finally ran out - half way down Royal Parade I have a most emphatic flat, and the only option is to walk the bike home, get changed, and catch the tram in, thus making myself forty minutes late. :P I did call in, so it wasn't terrible, and it just means I'll have to stay longer tonight and/or work through lunch. I am going to nick down to City Cycles at some stage to get that tube I've been neglecting (two, I think, just to make sure) and indulge in a bit of repair after training tonight. I have to, otherwise I'm not going to be riding again tomorrow.

Of course, it does mean I'm behind in all things, including checking my mail and stuff. Yes, I know I'm here to work, it just takes me a bit of a run-up, is all. And I have no doubt the pile of applications on my desk will be gone by this afternoon - I'm that good. *buffs nails on shirt*

Oh, and if Oznur doesn't turn down her love song pap from the Eighties CD, I'm going to strangle her and leave her body for the cleaners.

I swear, if I have to listen to Richard Marx croon about being right here waiting for me one more time, I won't be responsible to what happens to my co-worker.

Giving myself Moby therapy now - it's late-ish (I'm stuck here until 5.40pm on account of my flat this morning, dammit), and the place is just about empty, so I can turn up the volume and bop around in my chair.

I made the trip to the bike shop and now have two tubes - flats always come in threes, like all other bad luck, so I can expect a couple more. I'll patch the one that went down, providing it's a puncture and not the valve getting ripped off. But after the HUGE patch of glass I was unable to avoid without serious personal injury yesterday, I'm guessing it's a puncture.

Squeezed out another page of my Powers/BoM drabble during a quieter period today. It's been a really unmotivated day - even my horoscope in the Herald Sun (read at the sushi place during lunch) said not to try too hard today. Still, I've managed to get 54 applications processed, and that with a talk from the Sheriff today (like a bailiff in the States, they're the ones that go after people with warrants relating to debt). There was also another few lines of the Collective Mutants fic done last night - [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], I really don't want to nag, but any chance of that marriage ceremony soon? Unless you're still examing/essaying, that is. I'm kinda stuck now until I get it, unless I skip ahead, and I don't really write that way. Doesn't go with the organised mind. ;)

Hmm, nothing much else. A very boring day, especially since the email was awfully quiet. Need to start the random emails to people again.
