deathpixie: (le tour)
I have my very first animated icon! And isn't it nifty! Thanks very much, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com], it's perfect!

We're out of work again. Have been since 11am. I've been prowling around various sections, begging for work, because nothing makes a day drag more than not having anything to do. I do have a couple of job applications to write, and a resume to fix up. Although if it gets too bad I'm going to write, and bosses be damned.

Speaking of writing, I did some more of Death and the Art of Pyramid Selling last night. It's inching it's way towards a conclusion - sometimes the end is the hardest bit, because you know where you're going, it's just getting there, and after two years, it seems impossible that you'll actually finish, so you keep getting stuck.

I'm waiting on a call from my estate agent - the hot water service finally gave up the ghost this morning (before I'd had a shower, dammit!) after a couple of weeks of getting steadily colder and the pilot light going out a lot. So they're liasing with the owner and contacting a repair man and hopefully we'll sort it out today or tomorrow. I had to get inventive with the kettle and a bucket in order to wash this morning - I knew having short hair was a blessing, I was still able to wash it, no worries. And the water was actually much warmer than the shower's been the past couple of weeks!

Not much else to say. I might check out the Tour site again and see what's happening and look for another excuse to use my nifty icon. *grins*

I can't believe this! Not only is Brad McGee still in the yellow, but his team-mate and fellow Aussie, Baden Cooke, has won the most recent stage! He also has the best young rider (white) jersey, this being only his second Tour. I remember last year Eric Zabel, veteran German sprinter, mentioning Baden was someone to look out for, and now he's proving it. This is so cool!

Damn, I wish I could download the video at work - I have to wait until they show it on SBS tonight instead.
