This is more like it. 3.20pm, and this is the first chance I've had to jump online and play around with LJ. Which means, dear froods, that I've been busy.

And I'm loving it. :)

Today was my first day in court since last July. Almost to the day, which is kind of eerie. A nice small list for me to learn the vagaries of Perin appeals on, and most of those ended up being adjourned. A magistrate who (generally) knew what he was doing with things (Perin tends to trip the magistrates up a bit, cases comprising of firstly an appeal against the registrar's decision not to revoke the fine, and then the actual fine itself), prosecutors who (for the most part) turned up on time and knew the drill, and we were done by 11.30. The only issue we had was a defendant who knew the magistrate we had (from her demenour and knowledge of things, I'm guessing she's a cop), so we had to shift it to another courtroom, which cause some issues, and another defendant who didn't show until 11 and was keeping us waiting by doing so. I've processed all the adjournments, sent out the notices, entered the decisions on the Perin computer system (different from the Court one), and prepared next week's list. Busy little beaver, aren't I?

I've forgotten how much I enjoy the variety of court. I think I'm going to like it here in Appeals.

I went down to the Victoria Market at lunchtime and bought the fruit and veg for the next two weeks (possibly longer - that's the thing about being single, I'm not eating as much as I used to and the shopping goes further). I think I prefer Saturdays - lunch times are chaotic down there. I think I needed [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s cattle prod; I was sorely tempted to employ some of the moves we were doing at training last night to clear a path. Having only half an hour to get my food and then something for lunch as well didn't help. Yep, deinfitely Saturday next time - at least I won't be racing the clock. Still, I had to justify not riding in today with something more than "it's blowing a gale out there", and carrying a large bag full of green things is as good as any.

And Maria's just been through suggesting more stuff for me to do in the interim. I have much work, which means I am a happy little clerk. I have Purpose, and Tasks, and Things To Do!

And now I'm starting to sound like Anya from Buffy. *chuckles*
