Things on a glorious Friday afternoon...
Oct. 17th, 2003 01:12 pmI swear, our computer system (VIMS) goes down more than a cheap pair of undies... Yet another crash, and we're all sitting here with work we can't do. It's kind of annoying.
I went out to the pub with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] last night, since we hadn't done that for a bit. Obviously so, since we lost track of time what with all the talking and the pints and all. There was a semi-reasonable covers band playing as well, which didn't help the leaving part. As it was I got to bed at 1am, Phil probably later, and I was glad for my ability to sense tram stops even whilst asleep, otherwise I would have ended up in Coburg.
It's clash of the social events tonight. We're having a "Love Boat" themed cocktail night after work, and then I'm going to the birthday party of one of my karate buddies in South Yarra. So no, not much sleep going on for me this weekend, especially not considering I weakened and now have tickets for David Bridie. I have no willpower at all when it comes to music.
Speaking of music, and willpower, I found the Deborah Conway album Bitch Epic at the second hand place yesterday for $12. It's got the other songs I didn't know so well from the show the other night, including the one whose name I didn't know ("Tomorrow I'm A Daisy", btw - a great bouncy song which makes the perfect soundtrack to walking back from the Arts Centre on a glorious Friday afternoon). I think I'll have to add that song to my "Empowered Person Compilation CD" that I'm making in my head. Which reminds me, I need to work on the second Aussie Music Pusher CD. Oh! And Phil had a great idea last night, which I have to broach with the AusCon peoples.
Yes, I've had sugar today. What makes you ask?
