Weird...

I'm about to head off for my medical appointment for the visa, and I'm actually a little nervous. Me, who donates blood and grew up listening to mum's nursing stories and who has no fear of doctors. Perhaps because this isn't _my_ doctor, and this is like an exam. If I pass, good things, if I don't, nada.

Not that there's a chance of me failing this thing, since I'm scary healthy ficcer girl. Just... I'm vaguely nervous.

Like I said - weird.

I'll be offline for the rest of the day - once the appointment's done, I'm off to the police station for fingerprints and the second hand bookshop for Christmas gifties. Should be back this afternoon sometime.

Had my medical today, the whole enchilada, including blood test, urine sample and chest x-ray. The whole thing took a couple of hours, and I have to say, I was pretty wiped by the end. I ended up having a bath (and falling asleep in it) when I got home, but hey, it's done and I'm pretty sure we're all good. Filling out the personal history... I have to say I've had a remarkably healthy history. Three hospitalisations in my entire life, no major illnesses (by major they mean anything lasting longer than three weeks), and I'm the same height and weight as I've been for the last... fifteen years. 164 cms and 63kgs, by the way. ;)

Tomorrow I'm heading to Federal Police headquaters in the city and getting the fingerprinting etc done for the police history. I dropped by the local cop shop and they don't just fingerprint people any more - it's all a scam, I tell you. Any way, it's $27 the difference and I have a money order clearing for that amount, and it's better than any more hassle.

Canada's looking closer. :)
